President Obama Abets Alleged Criminal And Beer Buddy Henry Gates In Obstructing Justice?
Okay, we have heard a great deal about quasi African American President Barack Obama and African American Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. falsely casting suspicion over Cambridge Police Sgt Crowley for supposedly being hateful and stupid. Not once has anyone addressed the inappropriate behavior of Obama and Gates, who teamed up against a good police officer. Clearly, the officer arrested the... read more

Why Is Obama Still Popular With The American People?
Why Is Obama Still Popular With The American People? Only One Reason: The Republican Party! President Barack Obama’s administration has had lapses of administration failures and frustration during his early days as President, just as all new Presidents have experienced. Time is the greatest teacher for Presidents and their administrative staffs, the same as in all past administrations. This President,... read more

The United States And Islamic Theocracies Will Always Butt Heads
In a time of great political upheaval in the United States, it is oddly comforting to know that some things always stay the same. Just days ahead of President Obama’s much anticipated speech in Egypt, a voice from the not so distant past has appeared on the world stage. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to say this voice appears from stage left, denoting that the speaker is conveniently out of sight,... read more

“Truth Commission” Fiasco Will Yank Down Both Parties
What began life as a Senate Select Committee on Intelligence investigation on potential misconduct surrounding the CIA’s interrogation methods threatened to swallow the whole nation this week. President Obama stressed his opposition to holding public hearings on the matter, but was quickly chastised by his own party, including top Democrat Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House and third in the line of... read more

Tea Party a Bit Weak?
The Boston Tea Party is one of those iconic moments in the history of the American Revolution that every child learns about at an early age and continually revisits during his or her studies of American history. “No Taxation without representation,” was the battle cry of those protesting the Tea Act, a violation of a then imagined constitutional right to be taxed only by elected representatives. That... read more

Will Obama’s Overture To Iran Cause Alienation Down The Road?
As Barack Obama extends an olive branch to Iran, I have a sinking feeling this might go all to hell. My concern does not stem from the potential for appeasement of the arch-conservative Shia regime of the Ayatollah. Mere days before his Nowruz message President Obama extended US sanctions on Iran for another six months, saying the country presented an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to the... read more

Congress Guts A Real Public Servant
A parade of shame took place on Wednesday. Congressional leaders spent hours grilling Edward Liddy about 165 million dollars in bonuses at AIG. It was a scalding session as Liddy answered questions phrased with the bare minimum of civility. As the Q and A ended there was little resolution, and most Americans came away from the whole experience with a bitter taste in their mouths. The sad part is Americans... read more

Panem Et Circenses On The Potomac
Barack Obama campaigned viciously against the deficit spending of the Bush administration. Now, on the eve of his inauguration, as his transition team is pushing an 850 billion (with some estimates pushing past one trillion) dollar stimulus, news breaks that the Obama inauguration will cost over 150 million dollars (over three times the cost of Bush’s last inauguration). The festivities will last twice... read more

The Chicago Way: What The Rest Of The Country Is About To See
The end of a year is the traditional time to take a moment to step back from the daily news and reflect on the events of the past year. It is important to look with an intense, accurate retrospection at what happened and appreciate why events unfolded the way they did. This historic election year is perfect fodder for the political junkies like me that do not just read or listen to the news. We actually... read more

Black’s Insight On Bush’s Legacy Made More Poignant In The Internet Age
Living in Chicago, it would have been nearly impossible not to know the name Conrad Black. Even if I managed to miss his involvement with the Chicago Sun-Times, his internationally famous trial brought him into the local media’s attention. I read the news stories, most of them online, following the events of his trial in a diligent, though passing, manner, as a good mediaphile should. References were... read more
