The surname Fosco is somewhat famous in Chicago, though not for entirely positive reasons. Angelo Fosco, former general president of the Laborers' International Union of North America (800,000 members strong), was repeatedly cast under suspicion of union corruption charges.
Joseph Fosco and his family are of no relation to Angelo Fosco or any of his relatives. Joseph is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Armando A. Fosco Senior. Armando A. Fosco Senior was a major union official for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (1.4 million members strong) for many years until his death in 1987. In the early 1940's the Fosco family of Joseph's descent and the Nappi family were united by marriage. Joseph's relative Jack 'Romie' Nappi was a successful businessman and prominent union leader, championing the cause of liquor distribution employees. He is deeply missed since his passing in October of 2001.
Joseph Fosco's family has never been charged with union corruption.
It is important, both to Joseph specifically and posterity in general, that it be understood there are no relations between these two different Fosco families.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
